Kathmandu, 21 November (2019) - Outgoing Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Gokarna Bista has taken a cab ride from Singha Durbar to his residence.
He returned the government vehicle on Thursday and went home on a taxi.
After attending the farewell programme organized in the ministry, Bista took a cab ride home.
Speaking at the farewell programme, Bista said that he had sincerely carried out his duties as the minister for the benefit of labourers and the unemployed.
"I had surmised that doing work for the benefit of the people entails risks. But now I have experienced that risk first hand," he said. He was indicating the pressure created by the foreign employment companies to allow them to extort heavy fees from migrant labourers.
He claimed that he will speak up for the youth inside and outside the country even if he is no more a minister.
"My life is dedicated to the people," Bista said. "I will spent my remaining life in social work and will sincerely play my role in the party."
Bista has been relieved from his duties with the announcement of Cabinet reshuffle Wednesday.
