Kathmandu, 1 December (2019) - Sajha Party which advocates alternative politics in Nepal is shamefaced in by-elections.

Updated results have shown that Sajha Party is unable to secure even the deposit fees. Sajha had been claiming to win Kaski-2 seat.

But Rajani KC of Sajha Party has secured only 368 votes while Bidya Bhattarai of NCP has garnered more than 15,000 votes. Khem Raj Poudel of Nepali Congress trail her by securing 7,887 votes.

Sajha Party Coordinator Rabindra Mishra was rumoured to stand in Kaski elections. But Sajha opted for a local person and gave ticket to Nepali Congress activist Rajani KC.

Another small party Bibeksheel Nepali which had merged with and later broken up with Sajha Party fared worse. Jamuna Sharma of Bibeksheel Party secured mere 32 votes at the time of counting.

Samajwadi Party also did very badly and secured only 902 votes. The party had fielded a former British army man Dharma Raj Gurung for that seat.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party with the poll planks of Hindu Kingdom too seems to be unable to secure deposit fees. It got mere 360 votes.

Small parties like these have fared badly in other constituencies as well.
