Majority parliamentarians from NCP file writ petition at SC against dissolution of House
Kathmandu, 22 December (2020) - Majority parliamentarians from the ruling NCP have filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court of Nepal on Tuesday against the dissolution of House of Representatives.
Claiming that the dissolution is unconstitutional, they have mentioned in the writ petition that the decision has demeaned people's mandate.
The petition requests the Court to nullify the PM and President's unconstitutional move through a certiorari order.
"We have filed the writ petition. They have informed us that it will be registered today," one of the petitioners and parliamentarian Krishna Bhankta Pokharel told Lokantar.
Pokharel is the chairman of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee of the dissolved House of Representatives.
