Bench of CJ Rana to hear writ petitions against dissolution of House of Representatives
Kathmandu, 23 December (2020) - Twelve writ petitions against the dissolution of House of Representatives will be heard at the bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana.
Majority parliamentarians from the NCP under the leadership of Chief Whip Dev Gurung as well as advocates including Dinesh Tripathi, Kanchan Krishna Neupane and Lokendra Oli have filed writs at the Supreme Court against the PM and the President's decision to dissolve the House.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari had dissolved the House on Sunday on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
Neupane and Oli had filed a writ the same day but it was registered only on Monday.
NCP parliamentarians had filed a writ on Tuesday.
