Parliament will be reinstated: Jhala Nath Khanal
Kathmandu, 22 January (2021) - Senior Leader in Dahal-Nepal faction of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Jhala Nath Khanal claimed that parliament needs to be reinstated to save the constitution.
Addressing a protest rally against dissolution of parliament in Kathmandu on Friday, Khanal said that the Supreme Court will restore House of Representatives.
"The Supreme Court is empowered by the constitution. It cannot interpret anything extra-constitutionally. The parliament will be reinstated at any cost," he said.
"There is no other alternative to save the statute. No one can spread illusion about the Supreme Court. Justices in the top court are deferential to people's opinion."
Khanal also said that the Election Commission will grant legitimacy to his party.
