SC orders PM Oli and 4 former justices to appear in court
Kathmandu, 28 January (2021) - The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday issued a show cause notice in the contempt cases filed against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and four former justices.
The single bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Sharma issued the notice and ordered the respondents to appear in court.
PM Oli had commented that a show was going on in the court as an old lawyer was asked to present arguments.
Senior Advocate Dr. Kumar Sharma Acharya and Advocate Kanchan Krishna Neupane had filed contempt case against the PM.
The show cause order was also issued in the case against former justices Min Bahadur Rayamajhi, Sushila Karki, Kalyan Shrestha and Anup Raj Sharma as well as former Speaker Daman Nath Dhungana.
Advocates Lochan Bhattarai and Dhanjit Basnet had filed separate petitions against the former justices.
