SC orders Prachanda to appear in court with written response in contempt case
Kathmandu, 3 February (2021) - The Supreme Court ordered on Wednesday Chairman of Dahal-Nepal faction Nepal Communist Party Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda" to appear in court with written response in the case of contempt.
Hearing the writ petition filed by Sameer Hayu on Wednesday, the single bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Sharma issued a show cause order against Prachanda.
Hayu had filed the contempt case in the top court against Prachanda on Sunday.
Prachanda's statement that people will give their decision from the streets if the court fails to annul dissolution of House of Representatives amounts to contempt of court, the petition argued.
Previously apex court also ordered Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, four former justices and former Speaker Daman Nath Dhungana to appear in court with written response in contempt case.
