Janardan Sharma warns about insurgency if peaceful protests fail
Kathmandu, 10 February (2021) - Member of the Standing Committee of Dahal-Nepal faction of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Janardan Sharma Prabhakar warned that insurgency will take place if peaceful protests against dissolution of House of Representatives are unsuccessful.
Addressing the mass gathering organized by NCP on Wednesday in Kathmandu, Sharma said that since Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli bartered republic and federal system with power his faction had to hit the streets to protest the move.
"Regressive forces should see that thousands of people have joined the peaceful protests. These people will start insurgency if regression is not rolled back through peaceful protests. That insurgency will annihilate all opponents of federalism and republic system."
He further said that King Mahendra's reincarnation (autocrat leader) can take place if all the state institutions are not democratized.
