PM Oli mocks Nepali Congress for storming well in parliament
Kathmandu, 8 March (2021) - Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli cast his aspersions on main opposition party Nepali Congress for raising slogans and storming the well in the parliament on the first day of reinstatement.
He also said that the country would have started preparing for elections if the opposition had not filed cases and reinstatement of parliament forced all to see this bad day.
Addressing a programme on the occasion of International Women's Day on Monday, Oli said, "I dissolved the House of Representatives. It was reinstated. We had to witness this bad day. Why did they want to reinstate the parliament? To shout, jump and raise slogans?"
Satirizing Nepali Congress Oli added, "It's okay that the parliament is reinstated. Let's make the reinstated parliament a place for discussion of country's problems. On the very first day they stormed the well. Were they in discussion or were jumping or were performing shaman dance?"
Nepali Congress had stormed the well and raised slogans in the parliament on Sunday after the ordinance on Constitutional Council was being presented.
Dahal-Nepal faction of Nepal Communist Party had boycotted the meeting.
