Madhav Nepal to register party with new name
Kathmandu, 20 August (2021) - Senior communist leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has been denied registration of CPN-UML (Socialist).
After splitting from CPN-UML, which he had helped establish and chaired for 15 years, Nepal had approached the Election Commission to register new party.
But the Commission asked him to come up with another name for the party. Following this, Nepal and other leaders are preparing to register the party with a new name.
The party will be named CPN United Socialist (Nekapa Ekikrit Samajwadi).
One leader informed Lokantar that application for the registration will be submitted today.
