Mahantha Thakur applies for new party, names it Loktantrik Samjwadi Party
Kathmandu, 20 August (2021) - Veteran politician Mahantha Thakur has applied for the registration of a new party named Loktantrik Samajwadi Party on Friday.
Earlier, proposed name of the party was Janata Samajwadi Party (Loktantrik). But on Friday registration application with change of name has been submitted, working committee member Keshav Jha said.
Thakur is the president of the party while Sharat Singh Bhandari and Thakur himself are added as the senior leaders. Earlier only Rajendra Mahato was the senior leader.
Seven women have been added to the 24-member working committee with the total number being 31, Jha added.
