UML demands Speaker's resignation, decides to skip all-party meet
Kathmandu, 13 September (2021) - CPN-UML has decided to skip the all-party meet called by the Speaker on Monday.
Chief Whip of the Party Bishal Bhattarai phoned Speaker Agni Sapkota to tell that UML will not attend the meeting.
Bhattarai has asked the Speaker to paste the notice of relieving 14 parliamentarians against whom UML has taken action.
He said, "Either the Speaker should paste the notice of relieving parliamentarians from their post or resign himself."
The Speaker cut the call after hearing this, Bhattarai said.
UML has been hindering parliament meeting accusing the Speaker of playing a role in split of the party. The Speaker had called for an all-party meet at 2:30 pm to find out a solution.
Bhattarai had requested the Speaker to meet at Singha Durbar before the all-party meet but the latter declined.
