Progressive Writers' Association Talent Award presented to Pokharel
Kathmandu, 21 September (2021) - Progressive Writers' Association Nepal has presented this year's the Progressive Writers' Association Talent Award to poet and story writer Matrika Pokharel.
At a programme organised on the 70th anniversary of the Association here today, senior progressive litterateur Shanta Das Manandhar, presented the award to former chairperson and incumbent advisor of the Association, Pokharel. The award carries a purse of Rs 10,000.
On the occasion, an anthology of poems 'Jhulke Gham' written by Association Chairperson Prof Dr Jibendra Dev Giri and 'Sajha Akash' written by Tila Lekali were released.
Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Music and Drama, Narayan Bhakta Shrestha Rayan, member-secretary of Nepal Academy Jagat Prasad Upadhyay, member of Academic Council, Prof Dr Hemnath Poudel, Vice-Chairperson of the Association Gopi Raman Upadhyay, General-Secretary Samir Singh, among others said that contribution of provincial and women litterateurs would be written in the Association.
The Association was established in 2009 BS where progressive litterateurs associated with different leftist movements are organized.
