Minister Hamal resigns 72 hours after appointment
Kathmandu, 10 October (2021) - Minister of Industries, Commerce and Supplies Gajendra Hamal has submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Sunday. He was appointed to the post of minister on Friday.
He was roundly criticized for being appointed from Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana's quota.
Lawyers had said that the chief justice should be barred from entering court premises for asking a share in the cabinet.
PM Deuba also faced music for appointing Hamal, leading the latter to tender his resignation.
PM Deuba is said to have accepted his resignation.
