Hearing on cases through lottery system
Kathmandu, 25 November (2021) - The benches at the Supreme Court would be assigned to conduct hearing on the cases through lottery system from December 1. A full court meeting of judges at the apex court today took a decision to this effect.
The apex court judges and the Nepal Bar Association have been demanding assignments for a hearing through lottery system.
The Supreme Court judges have been refusing to conduct the hearing since October 24, calling for Chief Justice Rana's resignation after allegations that he sought a share in the expansion of the Council of Ministers and this has raised a question on the dignity of the judiciary.
