Gokarna Bista secures highest number of votes in UML secretary post
Kathmandu, 30 November (2021) - Leader Gokarna Bista has received the highest number of votes in the election for new secretaries in CPN-UML.
At the 10th national congress of the party in Chitwan district, Bista got 1976 votes. Yogesh Bhattarai secured 1964, Padma Aryal got 1800, Chhabilal Bishwakarma received 1800, Lekhraj Bhatta secured 1704, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi received 1700 and Raghubir Mahaseth received 1513 votes.
Tanka Prasad Karki got 500 while Bhim Prasad Acharya received 300 votes. Both of them were defeated.
Asta Laxmi Shakya, Surendra Pandey, Subash Nemwang, Bishnu Poudel, Yubaraj Gyawali and Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal have been elected vice-chairmen. Ghanshyam Bhusal lost the polls.
