MCC roils incumbent coalition, PM Deuba summons Prachanda and Oli to Baluwatar
Kathmandu, 6 February (2022) - Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is to meet incumbent coalition partner as well as leader of the chief opposition Sunday.
Top leaders will talk about the announcement of the local polls date and ratification of American project Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
Coalition partner CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda" and leader of the main opposition party CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli are scheduled to meet the PM at 4 pm in latter's official residence Baluwatar.
The incumbent coalition is facing difficulties due to the pending ratification of MCC. The trilateral meeting at this critical juncture is meaningful.
Prachanda is furious about the leak of the letter sent to MCC headquarters. The letter contains signatures of Prachanda and PM Deuba. In the letter Deuba and Prachanda have assured MCC that they would ratify the compact within due date.
Prachanda's CPN-Maoist Center has told PM Deuba to seek UML's support for the ratification. This is the reason Oli too has been invited to the talks.
