UML mulling to register impeachment motion against 4 justices

Kathmandu, 13 February (2022) - CPN-UML Standing Committee Member Agni Prasad Kharel said that discussions are underway to file impeachment motion against for justices of the Supreme Court.
The party is discussing whether impeachment motion against Justices Deepak Kumar Karki, Meera Khadka, Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada and Dr. Anand Mohan Bhattarai be registered or not.
UML's discussion is a response to the registration of impeachment motion by 98 Members of Parliament (MPs) of the incumbent coalition against Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana on Sunday.
"UML Secretariat meeting has been called for the evening. This issue will be discussed there," Kharel who served as the Attorney General in KP Oli government told Lokantar. "Parliamentary Party Meeting of UML will decide on the issue tomorrow."
UML has been consistently asking for impeachment motion against CJ Rana and four justices who issued a verdict to throw Oli government from power.
