Surya Nepal NPGA Tour Championship: Bhuwan and Subash share the lead on Day-II

Kathmandu, 10 May (2022) - Bhuwan Nagarkoti and overnight leader Amateur Subash Tamang share the lead after the second day of the Surya Nepal NPGA Tour Championship, the seventh event of Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2021-22. Bhuwan carded eight-under 64 today for a total score of 12-under 132. Subash turned in a card of fur-under 68 for a total score of 12-under 132. 

15 years old Amateur Sadbhav Acharya and Ramesh Adhikari are tied for third with the total score of seven-under 137. Sadbhav scored three-under 69 whereas Ramesh carded five-under 67. 

Rabi Khadka and Sukra Bahadur Rai are tied for fifth place at six-under 138, Rabi scored one-under 71 and Sukra played one-over 73.  

Dinesh Prajati is seventh with the total score of three-under after he carded one-over 73 today. Kamal Tamang scored even-par 72 today for a total score of two-under 142 to be at eighth place. Rame Magar is in ninth place at one-under 143 after carding three-under 69 today.  

Jayaram Shrestha and Dhana Bahadur Thapa are tied for 10th place at even-par 144, Jayaram scored one-under 71 and Dhana carded one-over 73.  

Bhuwan Kumar Rokka and Amateur Tashi Tshiring are at 12th place at one-over 145. Bhuwan played one-over 73, whereas Tashi had a disastrous six-over 78. Niraj Tamang and Sanjay Lama are tied for 14th place at two-over 146, Niraj scored three-under 69 whereas Sanjay played one-over 73. 

Bhuwan on his bogey free-round of eight under 64 carded five birdies on third, fifth, sixth, seventh, ninth for five under 31 on the front nine, On the back nine he sank birdies 11th, 12th and 15th holes for three-under 33. 

Amateur Subash played two-under 34 with birdies on third, fourth, seventh holes and dropped a shot on the sixth hole. On the back nine, he made birdies on 11th and 14th holes for two-under 34. 

Ramesh on his bogey-free round played two-under 34 on the front nine with birdies on first and fifth holes. On the back side, he carded birdies on 12th, 16th and 18th holes for three-under 33. 

Amateur Sadbhav scored two-under 34 on the front nine with birdies on first, third and fourth holes against a bogey on the second. On the back nine, he carded birdies on 10th and 17th holes against a bogey on the 16th hole.  

Rabi started with a double-bogey then made birdies on the third and sixth hole before dropping a shot on the ninth hole for one-over 37 on the front nine. On the back nine, he sank birdies on 13th, 14th and 16th holes against a bogey on the 15th hole for two-under 34.  

Sukra played one-under 35 on the front nine with birdies on fourth and sixth holes against a bogey on the eighth hole. On the back nine, he made a double-bogey on the 14th hole for two-over 38. 

The cut was applied at nine-over 153 and 21 professionals and six amateurs survived the cut after the mid-way of the tournament. Others who made the cut were Amateur Wanghchen Dhondup (147), Pradeep Kumar Lama (148), Tirth Poudel (150). 

Subash Tamang

Six players Krishna Man Rajbahak, Bal Bhadra Rai, Rajendra Thapa Magar, Shivaram Poudel, amateurs Vijay Shrestha Einhaus and Mahendra Phagami are at 151. Surya Prasad Sharma(152), Sanjok Moktan and Sachin Bhattarai are at 153.  

A total of 32 professional golfers and 12 amateurs are taking part in the tournament. The event carries a cash purse of Rs 775,000. Winner of the event will be richer by Rs 135,000, the runner-up will earn Rs 88,000 and the third-place winner will get Rs 65,000. Others in the top 21 places will also earn prize money.
