Pilot's mobile phone ringing, reaching crash location proves difficult
Kathmandu, 29 May (2022) - Mobile phone of the pilot of the missing plane belonging to Tara Air has been ringing.
Tribhuvan International Airport Director General Premnath Thakur said that the pilot's mobile phone is on.
"We placed a call at the mobile phone of pilot Prabhakar Ghimire," Thakur told Lokantar. "The call went through but it has not been picked up. The mobile's location indicates Teetee in Mustang district."
But Thakur said that people sent to Teetee have not been able to locate the plane.
The Tara Air plane had taken off from Pokhara Airport to Jomsom. It had already completed two flights in the morning. But the third flight proved fatal.
The aircraft had taken off at 9:55 am and it lost contact with the airport at 10:07 am.
Four of the passengers were Indian nationals while two of them were foreigners and 13 were Nepali people.
The plane lost contact at Ghorepani area.
