Surya Nepal Eastern Open to start from Tuesday

Kathmandu, 25 December (2022) - The second event of the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2022-23, Surya Nepal Eastern Open, will tee off on Tuesday, 27 December 2022 at the Dharan Golf Club, Dharan. The event sponsored by Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd. will be played over 54 holes over three days which carries a total purse of Rs. 800,000.

The winner will take home Rs. 140,000, Runner Up will bag Rs. 90,000 and Third place will earn a sum of Rs. 67,000. Others in the top 21 will also receive their share of cash prizes.

The tournament will conclude with the amateur golfers teaming up with the pros in the Pro-Am event on Friday, December 30th.

Among the Professionals Sukra Bahadur Rai, Bhuwan Nagarkoti, Jayaram Shrestha, Mani Rai Sanjay Lama, Dhana Thapa are top contenders of the event.

Cut will be applied after two days of play --36 holes-- top 21 professionals and ties along with top 6 amateurs and those who survive the professional cut will play the final 18 holes.

There are eight tournaments in the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2022-23, the tour carries a total purse of 6.185 million.
