All writ petitions against dissolution of HoR sent to constitutional bench, SC refrains from issuing interim order
Kathmandu, 23 December (2020) - The Supreme Court of Nepal has decided to send all the writ petitions filed against dissolution of House of Representatives to the constitutional bench.
The single bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana on Wednesday issued the order of sending the writ petitions to the constitutional bench, one of the writ petitioners Advocate Lokendra Oli told Lokantar.
The Court has refused to issue interim order as requested by the petitioners. The petitioners had requested the court to issue interim order against the respondents to refrain from implementing the decision of dissolution of the House.
Constitutional bench will be convened on Friday to hear arguments on writs against the termination of the House. Advocates Shambhu Thapa, Dinesh Tripathi, Harihar Dahal, Krishna Prasad Bhandari and Kanchan Krishna Neupane has presented arguments against the dissolution.
Writs against the dissolution were filed on Monday and Tuesday at the Supreme Court.
