Kathmandu, 24 February (2021) - Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba said that he has been watching internal strife of Nepal Communist Party (NCP).

Speaking at a programme organized on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahendra Narayan Nidhi on Wednesday in Kathmandu, Deuba commented that the NCP is still not formally divided and NC should be watchful about the possibility of two factions patching up.

He said, "What would happen to NCP row as the Supreme Court has reinstated the House of Representatives? They are still fighting for electoral symbol. NCP is still not officially split. What if they patch up? NC needs to be watchful."

Deuba also said that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli needs to transfer power peacefully.

He committed to making NC a strong force even if it has to remain in the opposition.

"NC has so few seats in the parliament that we can't be the determining factor. But we need to exercise strong role even if we have to remain in the opposition," Deuba said.

He also said that the Supreme Court issued the verdict in favour of democracy, people and justice.
