Kathmandu, 2 February (2022) - Chief opposition party CPN-UML has put forth four conditions for the removal of current impasse of the parliament.

UML had been asking Speaker Agni Sapkota to resign but now the party seems flexible to clear impasse if Sapkota apologizes. The party has been obstructing parliamentary activities for five months asking the speaker to either take action against 14 Members of Parliament (MPs) who left the party or tender his resignation.

In a programme organized by Yuwa Sangh in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Party Deputy General Secretary and MP Pradeep Gyawali said that the parliamentary proceedings will be smoothened if the speaker apologizes for his role in splitting UML.

"We have been protesting against speaker's move of failing to paste a notice about the 14 MPs whom the party had taken action against," Gyawali said. "You can paste the notice today and take action against those MPs. It would be recorded in history books."

UML's first condition for overcoming parliament impasse is to publish notice about action against 14 MPs, second is about public apology by the speaker, third is about speaker's resignation and the fourth is about finalizing the sub judice case on the status of Madhav Nepal's party.
