Neupane, Shrestha to be awarded with Dhawal Prize
Kathmandu, 7 February (2022) - Senior litterateur Nilkantha Neupana is to be prized with the Dhawal Prize of the year 2077.
Likewise, Nirmal Shrestha, writer of Sanskritik Nagar Tansen: The Living Museum, is named for the ‘Dhawal Creation Prize 2077’.
A meeting of the Board of Directors of Dhawal Library held here Sunday decided to honour both of them with the prizes after endorsing the recommendations from the prize recommendation committee.
Established by the Dhawal Library in Palpa district, the prizes carry a purse of Rs 25,000 each.
The prizes would be distributed amid a function on February 19 to be organised on the occasion of the Democracy Day, said General Secretary of the library, Rajesh Kumar Aryal.
Dhawal Library is the first library in the country which was established in 1983 BS. The library has been providing the prizes to people from different walks of life every year.
