Kathmandu, 20 February (2022) - General Secretary of Nepali Congress Gagan Thapa has claimed that parties opposing Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) will vote in its favour in the parliament.

While returning from the parliament meeting on Sunday, Thapa gave a brief reaction to the tabling of MCC.

He said, "The opposing parties will vote in favour of MCC after discussions which will continue even amidst sloganeering. CPN-UML leaders who had been obstructing parliamentary proceedings have also taken part in discussions."

He also said that communist leaders need to drop their double standard attitude as their own proposal is now tabled in the parliament.

"It is not good to show half of them protesting and half of them favouring MCC. They should drop this double standard," he said.

When asked about the fate of the ruling coalition Thapa said, "We have to fulfil our duties. If coalition breaks, so be it. But we don't want this situation to arrive."
