Rastriya Swatantra Party suspends parliamentarian Shrestha after damaging audio leak
Kathmandu, 9 April (2023) - Rastriya Swatantra Party has suspended its parliamentarian Dhaka Kumar Shrestha after he was found asking for 20 million rupees from medical businessman Durga Prasai.
An audio about the phone conversation between Shrestha and Prasai has been leaked to the media.
Party Spokesperson Mukul Dhakal issued a release saying that the party's attention has been attracted to the telephone conversation published in media.
Shrestha has been suspended as a parliamentarian and as a general member of the party till the end of investigation. He has been asked to submit a clarification within 24 hours.
Shrestha is alleged to have told Prasai that his party will get the post of health minister during cabinet expansion and he needs 20 million rupees for the party bigwigs.
