Third Day of Sub-Junior Challenge Cup Badminton: 20 Players Qualify for Semifinals

Kathmandu, 13 Jan (2024) : On the third day of the 2nd Yonex Sunrise Eenas Sub-Junior Challenge Cup National Badminton Tournament - 2080, U-11, U-13 and U-15 competitions were held on Saturday.

Out of which 20 players have qualified for the semifinal. They will compete for final on Sunday at Deepak Badminton Academy's covered hall in Manmaiju, Kathmandu.

Under U-11, Birat Basnet from Kapilvastu and Aarabh Shakya from Mahabuddha Club, Dip Thing from Tribhuvan Army Club and Sakshem Gurung from Kaski will compete in the semifinal on Sunday.

Similarly for U-13 students, Sudeep Rai from Sports Hub and Aarush Simkhada from APF Club, Safal Bhujel from Tanahun and Sudesh Rajkoti from Tribhuvan Army will compete on Sunday.

On the girls' side, competition between Niva Rai from Mohan Bhugol and Ashmita Khatri from Deepak Badminton Academy will take place. On the same day Raksha Fagami from Kaski and Samriddhi Shrestha from Tribhuvan Army will compete for final.

In the U-15 category, Satyam Karki from Dhanyantri Club vs Subin Shrestha from Tribhuvan Army will take place and Sudesh Rajkoti will compete with I. Tamang or S Rana of Tribhuvan Army on the same day.

Similarly on the girl's side, there will be a competition between Tribhuvan Army's Rihana Sherchan and Tisharani Shakya. Niva Rai will play with A. Shrestha or A. Khatri.

The entire branding and management of the tournament has been done by Khetan Sports Foundation. The competition which started on Thursday will continue till Sunday. Semifinal and final will be held on Sunday.
